Outside Activity Reflections
Activity 1:
I was required to attend or participate in two outside activities that were related to the course in some manner. The first activity that I attended was a seminar concerning popular education in Nicaragua. This event was held on campus in the Stayer Center. Much of the presentation was interpreted by members of a social justice group that focuses on popular education known as Cantera. This seminar revealed ways that Cantera is able to empower people to learn more about themselves in order to create a sense of community. Once community members come together, they work to better their area through whatever is necessary, such as paving roads, building a new school, digging a well, etc. Read my reflection on this popular education seminar.

Activity 2:
My second activity that I participated in was reading of an article named "27 Talking Points About Internet Safety". This article was posted on the website Tech & Learning. The article brought up multiple truths, myths, and tips for educators to use with their students. Read my reflection on the article "27 Talking Points About Internet Safety".
